The ‘Match Day’ Experience at the London Stadium

Embarking on a trip to the London Stadium is not just about witnessing a thrilling match; it’s an experience that encompasses top-notch facilities, great food choices, and seamless logistics. My recent visit to this iconic venue provided a great experience that I would like to share.

  1. Excellent Ticketing Experience: From the outset, the journey began with a seamless ticketing process. The staff at the ticketing department demonstrated professionalism and efficiency when purchasing my tickets over the phone. In addition, a smooth entry into the stadium set a positive tone for the entire visit.
  2. Food Inside the Stadium: One of the standout features of the London Stadium experience was the choice of food available. Inside, the stadium’s concessions offered a range of options, catering to various tastes but it was the quality of food that impressed me.   The chicken goujons where especially great!
  3. Merchandise Shop: No fan experience is complete without a visit to the merchandise shop. The shop boasted an extensive collection of team memorabilia, apparel and accessories. While the shop has a well-organized layout, it did feel a bit cramped.  A bigger retail space would definitely improve the overall experience on match days.
  4. Dedicated Supporter Information Booth: Recognizing the importance of ensuring a comfortable experience for visiting supporters, the London Stadium featured a dedicated information booth. This provided valuable assistance, including directions, match information, and local recommendations, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for both the home and away fans.
  5. Atmosphere inside the ground:  Like any football match, the atmosphere inside the stadium can make or break the experience. From before kick off until the final whistle, the atmosphere inside the ground was excellent.  At the start of the game, the West Ham fans sung their famous song, “I’m forever blowing bubbles” which was just electric. The club continued the fans interaction at half time with interviews and good use of the big screens.

I really enjoyed my trip to the London Stadium. The excellence of the ticketing department, the array of food choices, easy access to the stadium and great atmosphere inside the ground collectively contributed to a memorable visit. For sports enthusiasts seeking not just a match but a comprehensive event, the London Stadium is a trip not to be missed the next time you are in the City.
